Belarthis (Belgian Art History) is a research project – collective and collaborative – initiated by the Royal Academy of Archeology and Art History of Belgium which intends to bring together all Belgian and foreign researchers who wish to be involved with a view to establishing a “Belgian Historiography of art history”.

It focuses on the history of art, without excluding the “associated disciplines” (archaeology, museology, conservation, restoration, etc.) which will be considered here by and for their links with the history of art.

Designed as a database and a publication platform, structured into different categories (Personalia, Publications, Institutions, Events, Themes). Belarthis offers a critical and analytical look at the evolution of concepts, methods and practices of art history in Belgium from which a reflection on our professions and their future can arise.
