Vancampenhoudt on 22 May 2026 at the Royal Academy of Belgium.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The programme and various practical details will be published here shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Spread the word and join us in large numbers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Your presence is important for the debate we wish to build and share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Raising the issue of women and gender in art history is not a current fashion or a passing trend. These are rich and complex issues that have been developed over a long period of research, exhibition practices and outreach. But the memory of women’s history and those who write it is fragmentary and precarious. As art historians, we need precursors in order to establish ourselves within a lineage of practices, thoughts and knowledge. We hope that the study day \u2018Precursors: Legacies and perspectives on gender issues in art history\u2019 will be a space for dialogue.
